How to interpret your Home Cholesterol Test
Kit Results
The home cholesterol test will give you a
precise reading of your 'total' cholesterol
level. Cholesterol circulates in the blood
bound to lipoproteins in 3 main forms: LDL,
HDL and VHDL forms. The sum of the the LDL,
HDL and VHDL is the total cholesterol level.
When you take your total cholesterol
reading
it will put you in one of three
groups:
less than 200 mg/dl: Desirable.
This means you are at low risk for heart disease. Levels of between 190-199 approaches
the borderline-high risk group. Retesting within 1-8 weeks is advisable to confirm
that your results are in the normal range,especially if you have other risk factors

200-239 mg/dl: Borderline-High Risk Group.
